Deze praktijkrichtlijn is opgesteld door een werkgroep met vertegenwoordigers van het Ministerie van Volksgezondheid, Welzijn en Sport, het Ministerie van Verkeer en Waterstaat, het Ministerie van Economische Zaken, het Ministerie van Landbouw, Natuur en Voedselkwaliteit, de Inspectie voor de Gezondheidszorg, de Inspectie Verkeer en Waterstaat, TPG Post, de Nederlandse Vereniging voor Medische Microbiologie, de Nederlandse Vereniging voor Klinische Chemie en Laboratoriumgeneeskunde, Sanquin, het Leids Universitair Medisch Centrum, de Vereniging BVF-Platform en het Rijksinstituut voor Volksgezondheid en Milieu (RIVM).

Deze praktijkrichtlijn is bedoeld om het omgaan met de regelgeving die van toepassing is op de verzending en het vervoer van biologische materialen bestemd voor humane of dierlijke diagnostiek te vergemakkelijken en tegelijkertijd de veiligheid in acht te nemen. De praktijkrichtlijn vervangt deze regelgeving niet. De praktijkrichtlijn heeft betrekking op het verzenden van biologische materialen over de weg binnen Nederland, bestemd voor de diagnostiek en is geldig in ieder geval tot 1 januari 2009.

Introduction

The Microcanon introduces topics from the entire breadth of microbiology.

It contains 62 chapters organised in seven parts. Each topic in the Microcanon is described in an accessible and relative simple manner in order to increase the understanding and awareness for microbiology among the general public.

The book further aspires to challenge its readers to get more in-depth information.

Jubilee edition

The microcanon and its website have been published for the 100^th anniversary of the Dutch Society for Microbiology (NVvM).

The Prince of Orange, His Royal Highness Willem Alexander, received the first book at the centenary celebration in Papendal, Arnhem, on 2011 April 18.
