Bergey’s Manual Trust has formed a new international society for microbial taxonomists entitled Bergey’s International Society for Microbial Systematics, or BISMiS. 

Starting today candidates for the following awards in the year 2010 can be submitted through the appropriate channels.

- Kiem Award

- Kluyver Award
- PhD thesis Award
- van Leeuwenhoek Award
